The USWNT doesn’t play again until September, so I’m certain that USSF and, of course, Abby Wambach are very happy she broke the record Thursday night. This allows us about three months to discuss Abby’s feat until we have another USWNT topic to discuss that isn’t NWSL related.
As Abby sent home yet another header to break Mia Hamm’s record, there was much deserved celebration. Why? Well as Lori Lindsey tweeted later that night, “that’s a shit ton of goals!” However, I think that many of us know that its much more than Abby repeatedly putting the ball past the outreaching hands of a keeper.
